Justin Bieber still working with Scooter Braun amid claims they parted ways
Justin Bieber is not on the hunt for a new manager, despite reports that he has parted ways with longtime collaborator Scooter Braun.
The “Love Yourself” singer, 29, and his controversial manager “are still working together,” multiple sources told Entertainment Tonight on Friday. “Justin is not taking meetings to look for new management.”
Rather, insiders say that Bieber and Braun — who discovered the Canadian musician on YouTube in 2006 — “recently worked on something together.”
Puck News was the first to report that Bieber and Braun had ended their working relationship, with the “Sorry” singer seeking a new agency or manager. Though the pair’s latest contract remains in play, sources told the outlet they were “headed separate ways, and their lawyers are involved.”
The Canadian superstar was also said to have fired Creative Artists Agency and his lawyer, according to those insiders.
Earlier this year, the Grammy winner sold his entire music catalog to Hipgnosis Songs Capital for over $200 million. Less than two months later, he canceled the remaining dates on his previously postponed “Justice World Tour.”
The cancellation was attributed to Bieber’s June 2022 diagnosis with Ramsay-Hunt syndrome, which partially paralyzed his face in the weeks after his tour began.
Ramsay-Hunt is caused by a shingles outbreak that affects one’s facial nerves. The associated paralysis can become permanent in rare cases.
Though the “Hold On” singer eventually resumed performing in Europe, it wasn’t long before he opted to focus on his health and took another hiatus in September.
“I’m going to be OK, but I need time to rest and get better,” he told fans at the time.
Braun — who also manages the likes of Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato — has in recent years been linked to Taylor Swift, after controversially purchasing her masters in 2019. Though Braun sold the masters in 2020, Swift used the initial deal as a springboard to regain control of her music by re-recording “Taylor’s Version” of her first six albums.
