Jodie Turner-Smith Gives Burberry a Futuristic Punk Twist at Daniel Lee’s Spring 2025 Show
Jodie Turner-Smith turned up the edge at Daniel Lee’s Burberry spring 2025 show on Monday, offering a fresh, futuristic take on the British heritage brand. The actress stepped out in an outfit that combined Burberry’s classic preppy roots with a bold punk sensibility.
Turner-Smith’s statement-making look started with a sleek leather racing coat that was belted at the waist, giving her a defined silhouette. The coat itself featured grunge details: a silver metal zip, stud embellishments along the shoulders and a turtleneck adorned with spikes, reminiscent of the underground punk scene but with Burberry’s signature finesse.

Beneath the waist, Turner-Smith’s ensemble featured an unexpected floor-length dark green plaid skirt, offering a twist on Burberry’s traditional check print. Typically seen on outerwear and scarves, this check pattern appeared on a voluminous pleated skirt, punctuated by a high slit reaching the waist.
Turner-Smith’s look reflected Lee’s vision for Burberry’s spring 2025 collection, showcasing a reinterpretation of the brand’s iconic codes. As WWD’s Samantha Conti noted, “The designer riffed on the signature trench, turning it into a little capelet with silky feathers at the neck, and tapped into the brand’s military heritage for deconstructed drummer boy jackets and cool safari suits.”
