Alongside President Joe Biden, first lady Jill Biden returned home from a trip to Pennsylvania wearing a floral dress and a tall pair of wedges on Sunday.
Returning to the White House from presidential campaign events in the president’s home state of Pennsylvania, the Bidens were dressed in complementary shades of blue. Jill Biden’s Oscar de la Renta dress was a dark blue with colorful greenery splashed across it, including accents of orange and white. Around the cinched waist of the dress was a belt in the exact same pattern, allowing it to blend in seamlessly. Among her accessories were dangling pearl earrings and a delicate gold necklace.
Joe Biden, meanwhile, wore a navy suit with a white button-down shirt and no tie. On the warm July day, both husband and wife wore sunglasses, with the president sporting his classic black aviators.
While Joe Biden wore black lace-up leather loafers, Jill Biden wore a pair of espadrille wedges. They featured a textured cork base in a triangular shape; the sole’s light beige hue contrasted the navy blue canvas fabric of the upper portion of the shoes, which covered just the front half of her foot. The shoes also featured straps that wrapped around the ankle several times and were tied off with a bow.
Jill Biden often wears heels for formal occasions and public appearances but will also occasionally keep it comfortable in sneakers. She recently swapped the blue suede stilettos she wore during the June 27 CNN presidential debate for a pair of On running sneakers when traveling from Georgia to North Carolina after the debate.
A fan of the suede pump, she wore a darker blue pair when encouraging the public to vote at a June rally in North Carolina, pairing the shoes with a dress emblazoned with the word “VOTE” several times over. The first lady opted for a different color and texture when she slipped on a pair of lime green leather slingback pumps from Stuart Weitzman for a White House Cinco de Mayo event in May.
