Jerry Hall: 10 Glamorous Throwback Photos of the Supermodel and Rolling Stones Muse
With her long blonde hair, towering 6-foot frame and bright smile, the Texas-born Jerry Hall was one of the supermodels who defined all-American beauty in the '70s, strutting down the runway and appearing on every magazine cover imaginable.
Jerry Hall is just as well known for her relationships as she is for her work in the fashion industry. Early in her modeling career, she appeared on the cover of the 1975 Roxy Music album Siren, which led to her dating the band's suave frontman, Bryan Ferry, for two years.
In 1976, Hall meet Mick Jagger, who was married to Bianca Jagger at the time, and the model and the rockstar started a torrid affair. Reflecting on her relationships in a Washington Post interview, Hall said, "I was about to get married, but Mick just had this charm, and I was really crazy about him. I was so fickle. I went back to Bryan, but when you have an affair with someone you care about, it’s never the same."
What could've been a brief fling ended up lasting from 1977 to 1999. In 1990, Hall and Jagger married in Bali, but their marriage was later ruled to be invalid. During their 22-year relationship they had two daughters and two sons, but they broke up for good in 1999, when Jagger impregnated another woman.
In 2016, Hall made headlines when she married someone decidedly different from Jagger — the billionaire media mogul Rupert Murdoch. They divorced in 2022.
Here's a look back at the glamorous model's early days.
