Jennifer Coolidge Has ‘Really Missed’ Herself on ‘The White Lotus’
Jennifer Coolidge stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote her new movie and took the opportunity to reflect on the new season of The White Lotus—which notably does not feature her character Tanya.
“I’ve really missed myself,” Coolidge admitted to host Jimmy Kimmel. “I thought I’d be cool with it, but, yeah, I’m jealous. But Mike White is a genius and it’s going really well.”

The actress reflected on how White, who she considers a “good friend,” killed Tanya off at the end of Season Two after the character was an integral part of two seasons. “Your character died, which means you can’t come back for the fifth season or the sixth season unless they dig you up and reanimate you or something,” Kimmel noted.
“I thought there was a little window for me to come back because people saw me floating in the water and stuff, and I did look very dead and everything,” Coolidge said. “But then the girls were talking in this latest episode about [how] all they saw was my floating leg. And then all of a sudden I’m like, ‘Oh yeah, I guess I wouldn’t be able to swim away with only one leg.’ That really seals the deal if only one leg was left.”
Coolidge’s new movie, Riff Raff, is out now. The crime comedy co-stars Ed Harris, Gabrielle Union, Pete Davidson, and Bill Murray. The actress told Kimmel she was nervous having to grope Harris in a scene with their two characters.
“I won’t do it to Ed Harris ever again,” Coolidge shared. “I was acting, but I think he really thought I was going for it. And maybe I was, I don’t know. At one point he was like, ‘Get out of there!'” She added, “Sometimes there’s no rehearsals for this stuff. You’re shooting this stuff really fast.”
Coolidge previously responded to fan theories that Tanya might re-emerge in Season Three, which is currently airing on HBO. Some fans have suspected that Coolidge would play Tanya’s twin sister, but she recently shut that down in an interview with Forbes.
“Look, it’s not like I haven’t wished or whatever, but it isn’t happening,” Coolidge said. “It doesn’t matter. They don’t need me.”
She added that she does hope Tanya’s husband Greg, played by Jon Gries, gets what’s coming to him this season. “I hope he gets it!” she said. “I hope they do something terrible to him.”
