Jeffrey Epstein accuser on his death: 'There's no way that guy took his life'
In Truth and Lies: Jeffrey Epstein, an ABC special airing Thursday night, several of Jeffrey Epstein’s accusers spoke about how they felt after his death last August. Epstein, a billionaire financier, was accused of molesting and sexually assaulting a multitude of underage girls. Though his death was ruled a suicide, due to mysterious circumstances surrounding Epstein’s death and the many powerful men he was associated with, many people question the validity of the official account, including some of his alleged victims.
“My heart started racing,” Jena-Lisa Jones said, “and I was just like, ‘This has to be fake.’” Michelle Licata added, “There’s a lot of questions surrounding his death. I mean, are you kidding me?” And Maria Farmer, one of Epstein’s earliest known alleged victims, left no doubt about where she stands on Epstein’s death, saying, “Now they’ve made sure we never know everything. There’s no way that guy took his life.”
Chauntae Davies said she felt robbed.
“I was yearning for the moment to look him in the eye,” Davies said through tears. “I needed him to hear my words, and that justice has been robbed from me and from many others.”
Even after Epstein’s death, dozens of his alleged victims were flown to New York so they could be heard in court. And even without him there, it brought back chilling memories.
“Most of us spoke, and we said what we had to say,” Courtney Wild said, “but it was like reliving and going back to that 14-year-old girl, to me, walking up his staircase.”
A few of the women shared with ABC what they said in court that day.
“Jeffrey Epstein robbed myself and all the other victims of our day in court to confront him one-by-one. And for that he is a coward,” Wild said.
“What happened to me occurred many years ago when I was in high school,” Licata said, “but it still affects my life.”
And Davies added, “I will not stop fighting, and I will not be silenced any more.”
