Jamie Lee Curtis Honors Late Janet Leigh on Mother's Day and Shares 'Perfect Gifts' from Her Daughters

Jamie Lee Curtis is celebrating her late mom Janet Leigh and reflecting on her own motherhood.
The actress, 65, shared a collage of photos on Instagram on May 12 to celebrate Mother's Day, including black-and-white throwback photos pf her with Leigh, who died in 2004 at 77.
The Oscar winner also shared a third animated image of herself within the collage, which she said her younger daughter, Ruby Guest, commissioned as a gift.
"She was mine. I am theirs," Curtis wrote in the caption. "Watching my eldest daughter teach dance yesterday at her studio and this rendering gift that my youngest commissioned are my perfect gifts."
The actress shares two children with husband Christopher Guest, Annie and Ruby. Annie is a dancer who has worked at at MNR Dance Factory in Los Angeles since 2017. Curtis and her husband have hosted both of their daughters' weddings at their family's home.

Leigh was an Oscar-nominated actress best known for her starring role in Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 movie Psycho. Her father, the late Tony Curtis, was similarly nominated for one Oscar over his career, for his role in 1958's The Defiant Ones. Tony died in 2010 at age 85.
Curtis marked anniversaries of both her parents' deaths back in October when she shared a black-and-white photo of the pair posing together in 1953.

Janet and Tony married in 1951 and divorced in 1962; aside from Jamie, the old Hollywood couple also shared older daughter Kelly. After Janet and Tony's divorce, Janet married filmmaker Robert Brandt; they remained married until her death.

Back in December 2022, Curtis shared several images from Variety's "The 100 Greatest Movies of All Time" magazine covers, including one featuring Leigh's iconic scream from Psycho. She wrote that she wished Janet could see her family and career now.
"I woke up this morning missing my mother and wishing she could see the beautiful family that I have and that her two daughters are well and thriving and for her to enjoy this magical, creative year I'm having, after such a long time in the same industry she loved," she wrote at that time. "The miracle of the movies is that they last forever, in perpetuity."
