James Corden admits he wears Spanx while hosting 'The Late Late Show'
James Corden has confessed he wears Spanx to host The Late Late Show.
The 41-year-old British actor — who moved to Los Angeles in 2015 to take over hosting the talk show — opened up about relying on body control underwear after his guests, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan and drag queen RuPaul discussed their uncomfortable costumes.
“I think I'm making a sacrifice wearing these Spanx,” Corden said. “I'm not even joking. My New Year's resolution is to try to get to a point where I do one show this year, not wearing Spanx.”
The Cats star added: “It'll be like I'm suddenly free, Ru, I won't know what to do! I'll be breathing.
“Oh you'll know babe. You'll know. I will shout it from the rooftops. It'll be my first ever Instagram story!”
Corden opened up about battles with his weight last year when he spoke out about fat shaming.
Responding to a joke by talk show host Bill Maher, Corden said: “Fat shaming never went anywhere. Ask literally any fat person. We are reminded of it all the time.
“There’s a common and insulting misconception that fat people are stupid and lazy, and we’re not … We know that being overweight isn’t good for us and I’ve struggled my entire life trying to manage my weight and I suck at it. I’ve had good days and bad months.”
