James Bond Fans ‘Ecstatic’ About Cary Joji Fukunaga Directing 25th Film: ‘Brilliant Choice’
On the whole, James Bond fans were thrilled with Thursday morning’s announcement that “True Detective” Season 1 director Cary Joji Fukunaga will direct the still untitled 25th film in the franchise.
“Excited that Cary Fukunaga is directing #Bond25,” wrote one fan. “If you’re gonna replace one visionary director with another, this is a great choice!” Another wrote, “Cary Fukunaga doing Bond is actually a brilliant choice and I love it!”
Fukunaga, whose feature credits include “Sin Nombre,” “Jane Eyre” and “Beasts of No Nation,” will be the first American director in the storied franchise’s decades-long history.

Some fans, however, said they didn’t care for the news, and one said he was still “gutted” over Danny Boyle exiting the project last month citing unspecified “creative differences.”
I did mention I saw It which I liked, I looked up Cary Fukunaga and saw he directed hit dramas such as Jane Eyre & Beats of No Nation and also wrote 1st season of True Detective, maybe he might be good at Action but we'll see… I'm still gutted over Danny Boyle walking out ????

Unless Cary Fukunaga is turning Bond into dark occult horror, I don't care.

On Thursday, producers on the upcoming Bond film announced that Fukunaga would replace Boyle. Fukunaga most recently directed the Netflix dark comedy “Maniac” starring Jonah Hill and Emma Stone.
The new film, in which Daniel Craig returns for his fifth (and presumably final) outing as secret agent 007, will begin shooting on March 4, 2019, in the U.K. for worldwide release on Feb. 20, 2020.

Cary Fukunaga directing the newest Bond film makes me more interested in seeing it. I hope they allow him the freedom to execute whatever vision he has for the film.

That’s the same Cary Fukunaga of True Detective, Beasts Of No Nation and nearly-directing IT fame.
I’ll be watching his new Netflix show (starring Emma Stone and Jonah Hill) with even more interest.
Very, very interesting. https://t.co/kdk7C0wUkS
