'Bond 25' has an official title — and it's a real killer
Franchises may live and (let) die, but James Bond is eternal. Earlier today, 007’s caretakers, producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, unveiled the title for the super-spy’s 25th adventure... which is also likely to be the last time that Daniel Craig carries Bond’s license to kill. The Cary Joji Fukunaga-directed film is set to hit theaters in April 2020 as No Time to Die — the fourth 007 movie to feature the word “die” or “dies” in its name. (Predecessors include Live and Let Die, Tomorrow Never Dies and Die Another Day.) It’s also the longest title in Craig’s quintet of Bond blockbusters, finishing one word ahead of 2008’s Quantum of Solace.

It’s safe to assume that the action-packed events of the film won’t leave much time for Craig to perish. Written by a team that includes longtime Bond scribes Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, as well as Fukunaga, Scott Z. Burns and Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the film opens with James happily enjoying retirement in Jamaica, the 007 moniker having been passed along to a new agent, played by Captain Marvel breakout star, Lashana Lynch. But the arrival of a new threat in the form of Oscar-winner Rami Malek pushes Bond off the beach and back into action.
As expected, Twitter has a variety of thoughts about the killer new Bond title.
