Jacquees Details Dubai Fight With Trey Songz, Regrets Taking Issues To The Internet
The self-proclaimed “King Of R&B,” Jacquees, has opened up about going blow-for-blow with Trey Songz in a fight during their shared time in Dubai.
After first revealing the squabble to fans in February and denying rumors he was “beat up” by the Virginia native in September, the singer took to The Breakfast Club today (Dec. 4) to share his embarrassment over publicizing the moment.
“I think the biggest mistake I made in my entire career was going on the internet and talking about Trey Songz,” the new father admitted, adding that he just spoke to the Trigga singer the day before the interview. He went on to explain that they’ve been friends for years, but Songz, by his account, was “trippin'” the night they engaged in fisticuffs.
“Ni**as gotta hit sometimes,” Jacquees explained. “We friends, but it was just one of them nights, the ni**a got to trippin’ in my opinion…I just regret taking it to the internet.”
The singer also admitted that he swung first and was shocked by Songz’s skills as a fighter, as he had never been on the receiving end of his buddy’s ire before. He then gives a light re-enactment of what happened, saying he hit Trey twice, then Trey punched him, and as Jacquees attempted to grab the “Bottoms Up” artist, Songz pulled on his dreads before the fight was broken up. Hear him detail the Dubai melee below.
Back in February, the “B.E.D.” artist took to social media to call Songz out, claiming the singer came into the club “talking about rape” before swinging on him — contradicting his claim of throwing the first punch on The Breakfast Club.
“I want the world to know this bi**h a** ni**a Trey Songz is a bi**h, period,” he began. “This ni**a came in the club talking about rape. The f**k you talking about rape for, bi**h a** ni**a? Then you come outside the club and swing on your little brother. You a bi**h. Chris Brown the G.O.A.T.”
He went on, “About a bi**h that ain’t even my bi**h? You talking about bi**hes that’s with these ni**as? The workers?” he added while gesturing to people wearing dress shirts and slacks. “Aye man, f**k you, bi**h a** ni**a. You a rapist, bi**h. And I don’t give a f**k if you tell anybody anything about what we texted. Put the messages on there—f**k you, bi**h a** ni**a. You can never come around me.”
