Former 'Grey's Anatomy' star Isaiah Washington supports Trump: Democrats are 'not doing enough' for the black community
Isaiah Washington is a Trump supporter and he's not afraid to say it. The former Grey's Anatomy star appeared on Fox Nation's Nuff Said and explained why he left the Democratic party, adding there are plenty of like-minded conservative actors but they are too afraid to "come out of the closet."
"You got a lot of conservative or centric libertarian-minded people that really care about other people but they are terrified to come out of the closet and say anything that's not in line with the Democratic party," he told host Tyrus. (It's an interesting analogy as Washington was fired from Grey's Anatomy for using a homophobic slur.)
Washington supports the #WalkAway campaign, a movement urging people to "walk away from the divisive tenets endorsed and mandated by the Democratic Party of today." The 100 star used to be a democrat, but feels the party is "not doing enough" for the black community.
"Walking away... is a sacrifice, it's a risk and there's a penalty for it," the 56-year-old actor said. "But I will only walk away when it matters and the reason why I've chosen to walk away from the Democratic party as I know it and walk away from the Republican party as I don't know it, is that something doesn't feel right... If I look at the political lineage of the Democratic party over the last 50 years of my lifetime... and very little has changed in my community... then I have some questions. I've got more than questions."

"I'm going to support the policy over the person," he added. Washington highlighted Trump's support for the First Step Act as one of his reasons for switching.
The actor has voiced his support for Trump before. Despite voting for Barack Obama "twice," Washington claimed he received no "support regarding Africa or the Black Agenda" from the former president and his administration while Trump invited him to the White House to celebrate the First Step Act.
Washington tweeted Thursday that black democrats are attacking him over his views.
Judging by a certain demographic on social media, you’d swear my last interview on @foxnation was declaring that EVERYONE #WalkAway🇺🇸 from @PopeyesChicken chicken sandwiches FOREVER. ijs cc: @PlanetTyrus pic.twitter.com/T4PciMiUDS

I dated a woman that was addicted to crack. I became addicted to trying to save her. She stole from me and disappeared for days, worrying me to death. I really loved her and when I tried to reason with her to get her help, she refused, berated & attacked me much like Black Dems. pic.twitter.com/QqkLDVu85i

For what it's worth, he doesn't care if he's "canceled" — again.
The “Cancel Culture” is self-defeating. I mean, if I’ve been “Cancelled” more than 4 times, doesn’t logic dictate that I was never “Cancelled” at all? I mean, why keep letting me know that I’m “Cancelled”, if you “Cancelled” me 4 times ago? Please look up the word “indifference.” pic.twitter.com/Bl54APqJaH
