Is Cersei Lannister a ‘Bad Mom’? Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn, and Mila Kunis Discuss
First off, just want to say we might be spoiling Game of Thrones for some of you. OK. Now, Thrones will be off the air almost a year — until the seventh season premieres next summer — but that doesn’t mean we can’t talk about it, right? Well, if not, we’re sorry, because when Yahoo Movies sat down with the cast of Bad Moms, we did just that. With a title like Bad Moms, we felt the urge to ask the stars about Cersei Lannister from the HBO hit show. Would Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn consider Lena Heady’s character a … bad mom?
“She loves those kids,” Hahn pointed out. “Well, there’s not many left,” said Kunis. “There’s not many left. The prophecy came true, my friends.”
That prophecy Kunis is referring to is the one that Maggy the Frog gave Cersei as a child: She would have children, but they would all die before her. Joffrey, Myrcella, and Tommen, of course, have kicked the bucket by now. Still, Cersei loved her kids.
“Weirdly, I think her kids are the only people she loved,” Bell pointed out. “She loved her brother,” Kunis interjected. “That’s true,” Bell agreed, but she added, “She’s a bad person.”
The newly crowned queen of Westeros is, well, bad. No way to get around it. There’s never been any doubt that Cersei loves those kids of her. And her brother Jaime too, it would seem.
“She’s a gooood sister,” Bell joked. “Real good sister,” laughed Hahn in response to Bell. “Really good sister,” Kunis said. Of course, this was all tongue in cheek, so save your mail decrying their endorsement of the Lannister twins’ incestuous relationship.
