Injustice 2 trailer pits Wonder Woman against Blue Beetle

While Wonder Woman is burning up the big screen in the film directed by Patty Jenkins, the warrior woman from Themyscira has returned to video games, as shown in the new Injustice 2 trailer.

"Did I mention I'm an Amazon?" the character asks before waging war against DC characters like Gorilla Grodd, Batman, and Superman. The character will have long-range lasso attacks, sword-and-shield combos, and brute strength in her arsenal when the game drops next year.

A new adversary and addition to the Injustice franchise is Blue Beetle, a young boy infused with an alien artifact that allows him to summon a winged battle suit. "I'm ready to level up," he says before brawling with Diana.

The sequel game to Injustice: Gods Among Us was announced in June for a 2017 release.

“In Injustice 2, we are introducing new features that will change the way fans play fighting games," NetherRealm Studios creative director Ed Boone said in a statement. "We’re always interested in pushing the genre forward and allowing players to customize and level-up their favorite DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains is a significant leap.”
