Iggy Azalea Says She's 'Very Much the Only Parent' to 4-Year-Old Son Onyx: 'I Am Not Co-Parenting'
The rapper welcomed her son in 2020, whom she shares with ex Playboi Carti
Iggy Azalea isn't relying on anybody else when it comes to parenting her son.
Appearing on Sony Music Entertainment’s Dinner's On Me podcast, hosted by Jesse Tyler Ferguson. the rapper, 34, chatted with the Modern Family actor, 48, about her relationship with her son Onyx, whom she welcomed in 2020 and shares with ex Playboi Carti.
"I'm very much a single mother. I'm very much the only parent, no disrespect, but yes, I am not co-parenting really, and that's just the reality of it," she says. "It's one, it's 24/7."

Later in the podcast, Azalea notes that becoming a mother and having her son made her want to slow down a little and prioritize being present.
"I no longer want to be traveling around everywhere. I want to take my son to school. I want him to have memories with me and give him that time," she explains. "It's really important to me."
"I owe my success in large part to my mother because she spent so much time with me and she just really gassed me up and made me think I was a superwoman genius, dancer extraordinaire, painter extraordinaire, chef, whatever it was. And it's important to me, even when my son's only 4, that I know I'm there, instilling that confidence in him and just helping guide him."
"It's my job as a parent. I think if you're going to have a child, you should be prepared to do that and engage in that way. And I really want to. I toured two years with my son on a bus and it was time for that to end," the rapper says.
In April, Azalea shared a carousel post on Instagram of photos from her son’s Bluey-themed pool party. In the first picture, the rapper rested her head against her son as they sat outdoors.
Onyx was also captured sitting on a tiger float as he sported Bluey swimming trunks and goggles, while the third slide featured Azalea with her pals as they celebrated Onyx while sipping on cups featuring Bluey and her sister Bingo.
“Cheers to Onyx,” the mother of one said as she raised her drink. “Happy Birthday Onyx, we love you.”
