Home Team Comedy Starring Eric Stonestreet in Works at Amazon, Peyton Manning Among EPs
Prime Video is root, root, rooting for Home Team, a comedy starring and executive-produced by Modern Family vet Eric Stonestreet and now in development at the streamer.
Described as both “a comedy with a big heart” and a “love letter to father-son relationships,” Home Team (per our sister site Deadline) follows Stonestreet’s Scott Hansen as he moves his dad into a retirement community, then begins to get his life back on track and learn how to finally “live in the moment.”

Joining Stonestreet as executive producers on the comedy project are showrunner Jason Belleville and Austin Winsberg, who co-wrote the story, plus Ben Brown, Jamie Horowitz, Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, Jason Wang, Steven Lavivit and NFL vet Peyton Manning.
Home Team is said to be influenced by both Manning’s and Stonestreet’s strong relationships with their fathers.
Stonestreet recently reprised his Modern Family role of Cam in a WhatsApp commercial that reunited him with former castmates Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. His post-Modern Family credits also include Season 2 of Disney+’s The Santa Clauses (playing Mad Santa) and epsiodes of NBC’s American Auto.
