Hinterland Music Festival, held in St. Charles from Aug. 2-4, just dropped its 2024 lineup after a previous year that welcomed musicians Bon Iver, Maggie Rogers and Zach Bryan to the stage. The festival is the brainchild of Des Moines-based concert promoter Sam Summers.
Presale tickets are available starting Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. on hinterlandiowa.com.

Hozier headlines day one at Hinterland Music Festival
“Take Me to Church” singer Andrew Hozier-Byrne, better known as Hozier, captivated audiences with the single just over a decade ago, rising to the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 charts in 2014 and earning the Irish singer-songwriter a Grammy nomination. Hozier released his latest album, “Unreal Unearth,” in 2023 and previously performed at Hinterland Music Festival in 2019.
Who else is performing on day one of Hinterland Music Festival?
Masked country singer Orville Peck, whose popular songs include “Dead of Night” and “C’mon Baby, Cry," will join Hozier on Friday. Other Friday performers include Minneapolis band Hippo Campus, signer-songwriter Sam Barber, folk-indie leaning act Josiah and the Bonnevilles, self-described “folk misfit” Odie Leigh, and singer Debbii Dawson.
Vampire Weekend takes over day two of Hinterland Music Festival
Longstanding alternative band Vampire Weekend is known for songs “A-Punk,” “Oxford Comma,” “Unbelievers” and more. Nabbing two Grammy Awards in their career, Vampire Weekend formed in New York nearly two decades ago.
Who else is performing on day two of Hinterland Music Festival?
Singer-songwriter with more than 780,000 followers on TikTok Lizzy McAlpine will join Vampire Weekend on Saturday. Other performers include country performer Charley Crockett, Alabama-originated act Red Clay Strays, Los Angeles singer-songwriter Madison Cunningham, folk-rock group Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners, singer-songwriter Sabrina Teitelbaum, better known as Blondshell, and Vermont singer-songwriter Hans Williams.
Noah Kahan returns to headline day three of Hinterland Music Festival
The “Hurt Somebody” singer returns to St. Charles to headline after previously performing at Hinterland Music Festival last year on the same day as headliner Bryan. Kahan, who gained popularity through TikTok, is up for a Grammy — Best New Artist — in February.

Other performers include Philadelphia quintet Mt. Joy, singer-songwriter Ethel Cain, pop musician Chappell Roan, singer-songwriter Amber Bain, better known as The Japanese House, indie band flipturn, London-based band The Last Dinner Party, New York-based songwriter Katy Kirby, and indie act Palehound.
