Here's When We Can Expect Cardi B's Sophomore Album
The Grammy Award-winning rapper Cardi B briefly spoke with The Breakfast Club and revealed her sophomore album is on the way.
The rapper and mom of three spoke phoned into The Breakfast Club to say goodbye to one of the show’s co-hosts, Angela Yee, on her last day. Yee is leaving the Breakfast to do a solo venture in 2023 on IHeartMedia called “Way Up With Angela Yee”.
The phone call soon got redirected to asking her if she would guest host on the show and the release date of her anticipated sophomore album. It’s been four years since the release of her debut album “Invasion Of Privacy”.
“I have no choice, I have to put it out,” she said to host Charlamagne on whether the album will be out in 2023. “I have like a couple of songs that are like definite, I don’t know. I don’t know what’s going on with me. I need to just make up my mind and put it out.
Charlamagne brings up that she should release the sophomore album on April 6, 2023, to celebrate the five-year anniversary of Invasion Of Privacy. To which she thought sounded like a good time but was apprehensive to give a definite release date.
Her previous album Invasion of Privacy featured several songs that charted on the Billboard 100 chart. The album on its own has earned triple platinum status from the Recording Industry Association of America and broke the record for the longest-charting album by a female rapper on the Billboard 200.
