Heidi Klum and her daughter Leni enjoyed a special fashion moment together as they posed on the red carpet at the Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) Cannes Gala in France on Thursday, May 23.
The charity gala, which raises money for HIV and AIDS research, takes place during the annual Cannes Film Festival. It attracted several celebrities for this year’s red carpet event.
Photos shared online showed Klum, 50, posing with her daughter on the red carpet. Both women wore wild and drastically different dresses, with Klum sporting a peach-hued gown and Leni wearing a mostly see-through black gown.
Klum’s dress featured bunches of tulle that stretched from her right shoulder across her body, covering all but her left arm, head and neck before the angle of the dress began to reveal her right thigh. A long stretch of tulle then fell around her as she posed for photographers, with the gown maintaining its ruched look as it stretched behind the America’s Got Talent judge.
The former Victoria’s Secret model paired the gown with large dangling earrings that featured a large green stone in the center of each. She also wore tall heels that matched the color of her gown.
Meanwhile, the 20-year-old's gown featured dark ruched fabric that covered her chest and hips. The rest of the floor-length dress was made of a sheer black fabric, which she offset with a sparkling necklace and stud earrings.
A video Klum shared with fans on Instagram showed the mother-daughter duo holding hands as they walked up a set of stairs as they arrived at the gala. Klum blew kisses at photographers who busily snapped photos of her while Leni planted a hand on her hip and struck a pose.
While speaking with reporters at the event, Klum mentioned that she would be helping auction off 28 outfits at this year’s gala. In a clip of her comments that the gala later shared on Instagram, Klum expressed hope that the auction items would “raise a lot of money,” which she added would be “fabulous” for the cause.
