Heather Gay got her wish after saying she refused to film with Monica Garcia. Season 5 of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City will be down one game-changer and have very big shoes to fill.

But according to Heather, now the core cast have all put their differences aside and come together after Monica’s reign of terror. The reunion is over, Season 4 is done, and so is Monica. We’ll have to see how long this bond between the OGs lasts after Mon’s departure.

The “common enemy” of it all

It was everyone vs Monica and you had to duck to keep the hypocrisy from smacking you in the face. As Heather waxed poetic on Watch What Happens Live about friendship, I seem to recall she didn’t start the show with a cast of adoring friends.

Heather felt personally attacked by Reality Von Tease calling her a “manatee” but shows grace when Mary Cosby said she looked “inbred” and didn’t bat an eye when Jen Shah compared her to a giant green ogre. That said, at times, several of the ladies had re-shared Reality Von Tease posts when they were flattering in nature.

While in the past this group hasn’t exactly been symbiotic, they all agreed they couldn’t film with Monica going forward. “It’s not iconic to be a bully. This has ruined my experience as a Housewife … every Housewife on every franchise would say that the worst part is the trolls and the bullies,” Heather said, completely forgetting about her past three years with Jen.

I’m glad for Heather that her experience as a Housewife wasn’t ruined after lying about the black eye. Lisa Barlow, Angie Katsanevas, Meredith “Trampoline with Eyes” (it’s a compliment!) Marks, and Whitney Rose all agreed with Heather that Mon’s behavior was “too insurmountable” to move on.

Additionally, Lisa said there was “nothing” Monica could do to make things better. This is coming from the same person who would give Jennie Nguyen another chance.

A Season 5 love fest?

On WWHL, Heather gushed over her co-stars. “I love these women. I love them all. Deeply, truly, on a level that — there’s nothing like a common enemy to bring you together,” she said.

“And they had my back on the beach. They could have blown me off, they could have said a thousand things, but they said, ‘I have your back.’ It was a pivotal moment for all of us as friends.”

We’ll see how that works out for Heather in Season 5. Stay tuned.
