Halle Berry Reveals the Extensive Injuries She’s Suffered During Her Career
Halle Berry shared with Mark Wahlberg the extensive injuries she’s incurred throughout her acting career during a new interview while promoting their new Netflix action-comedy, The Union. In the film, Berry plays Wahlberg’s ex-girlfriend who returns only to embroil him in an international caper.
When the pair were asked in a Netflix interview which special skills they’ve had to learn during their careers, it didn’t take Berry long to segue into talk of injuries she’s suffered at the hands of those special skills.
“I’ve been knocked out three times,” the Bruised star began. “Got an arm broken, broke ribs twice, two ribs one time, three ribs another time. Broke a tailbone, broke two toes and a finger—this finger," she said, laughing as she displayed her middle finger.
Injuries aside, Berry considered a few particularly dangerous stunts she performed that didn’t result in injury, though she felt at the time that they might. Playing Storm in X-Men was no cakewalk, as Berry often found herself suspended on cables in mid-air for “a long time” during shoot days.
Likewise, the 2012 thriller Dark Tide gave the actor a few anxious days on set. “I played a free diver,” she explained. “I had to hold my breath for almost two and a half minutes. And that felt like eternity. It felt like death was imminent."
Luckily, Berry survived to share her battle stories. The 57-year-old star arrived at Monday night’s Los Angeles premiere of The Union in a stunning see-through gown, if her frequent racy social media posts weren't already enough of a treat for her fans.
The Union begins streaming Friday, Aug. 16 on Netflix.
