Gracie Abrams gears up for 'SNL' as tickets for her 2025 tour go on sale: A look at the singer's rise to pop stardom
Abrams has had a meteoric 2024, with her own headlining tour coming in 2025.
Gracie Abrams is a pop girl to watch.
Ahead of her Saturday Night Live debut on Dec. 14, Abrams added five additional shows to "The Secret of Us Deluxe Tour" due to overwhelming demand. General public tickets for Abrams's first arena tour went on sale Dec. 13.
On Dec. 9, Abrams announced that she’d be embarking on the North American leg of her upcoming tour. The news came less than 24 hours after opening for Taylor Swift at the final “Eras Tour” show in Vancouver, Canada.
Since releasing her sophomore album, The Secret of Us, in June 2024, the pop singer's career continues to reach new heights. Whether it’s joining her “Us” collaborator and mentor Taylor Swift onstage as an opening act during the North American legs of her “Eras Tour” or earning her first-ever Billboard No. 1 with “That’s So True,” Abrams has already notched several career milestones. She doesn’t appear to be stopping anytime soon.

June 21: The Secret of Us album release
While touring on Swift’s “Eras Tour,” Abrams debuts her second studio album, The Secret of Us, which features singles “Risk,” “Close to You” and “I Love You, I’m Sorry.” The Secret of Us comes just one year after Abrams’s first studio album, 2023’s Good Riddance, was released.
“The energy of the music that I’ve been making this year has felt like when you run home to tell your best friend every detail of your night,” Abrams told Elle before releasing The Secret of Us. “There’s almost a satirical, dramatic element to the music this time around — not that I wasn’t obscenely, obscenely dramatic in the past, but I was laughing while writing these songs.”
June 28: The Secret of Us hits No. 1 in the U.K., Australia
A week after its release, The Secret of Us skyrockets to No. 1 in the U.K. and Australia, becoming Abrams’s first chart-topping album of her career. Abrams’s sophomore effort tops the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart and Australia’s ARIA’s Top 10 Albums Chart.
“Can’t wrap my head around it,” Abrams wrote on Instagram about the milestone. “Just grateful to all of you. I can’t wait to come and play the songs together.”
July 1: The Secret of Us hits No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales Chart
Abrams nabs another first: Her first No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales Chart. The Secret of Us sells 50,000 copies in the United States in the week ending June 27, according to Luminate data. The album’s first-week success is largely credited to the release of its seven vinyl variants — all color variations, two of which were available only on Abrams’s online store. Vinyl sales comprise 41,000 of the album’s total sales that week.
July 15: U.K., Europe tour dates announced
The 25-year-old singer announces the U.K. and Europe tour dates in support of The Secret of Us. Kicking off in Madrid in February 2025, Abrams's four-and-a-half-week tour will conclude in Glasgow, Scotland, on March 12.
July 17: ‘I Love You, I’m Sorry’ music video release
Written and directed by her close friend and collaborator, Audrey Hobert, Abrams’s music video for the single “I Love You, I’m Sorry” sees her taking in a summer day with friends before accepting the “Asshole of the Year” award.
Aug. 31: Australia, New Zealand tour dates announced
The “Us” singer-songwriter announces she’s taking “The Secret of Us Tour” to Australia and New Zealand. Beginning April 29, 2025, Abrams is visiting six cities, including Auckland, New Zeland; Sydney and Melbourne, Australia over the course of two weeks.
Sept. 5: North American leg of ‘The Secret of Us Tour’ begins
Abrams takes the stage in Portland, Ore., for the first of 23 sold-out shows of “The Secret of Us Tour.”
“Portland thank you so much for being our first show back,” she captioned a post on Instagram. “I feel so lucky to know you.”
Oct. 18: The Secret of Us Deluxe album release
Abrams releases The Secret of Us Deluxe album featuring seven additional tracks she teased on Instagram just days earlier. The expanded track list consists of four new songs along with three live versions, including “That’s So True,” “I Told You Things” and “I Love You, I’m Sorry (Live From Vevo).”
Oct. 18: Back on the ‘Eras Tour’
Abrams rejoins Swift in Miami as her opening act for the remaining “Eras Tour” dates. The “Close to You” singer initially joined Swift on the “Eras Tour” from March to August 2023.
“I will never forget what this felt like,” Abrams wrote on Instagram following her return. “Being back on this tour feels like coming home.”
Oct. 30: Kamala Harris rally appearance
Ahead of the 2024 election, Abrams attends Vice President Kamala Harris’s rally at Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wis. In addition to performing “I Love You, I’m Sorry,” Abrams urges Gen Z voters to support the Harris-Walz campaign at “a very tricky time.”
“It’s easy to be discouraged, but we know better. We know that unless we vote and keep our democracy intact, there is nothing we will be able to do to fix it when it is our turn,” Abrams told the crowd.
Nov. 8: Earns 2025 Grammy nomination
Abrams scores her second-ever Grammy nomination ahead of the 2025 awards show. She’s nominated alongside Swift for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Us,” their duet on Abrams’sThe Secret of Us Deluxe.
During the “Eras Tour” show in Toronto on Nov. 16, Swift recalled the moment she and Abrams found out they’d been nominated.
“You can’t even imagine, like, the phone call between the two of us when the nominations came out and we saw that song was nominated,” she said. “It was just screeching. It wasn’t even words, it was just feral screeching for the entire call.”
That night, Abrams joined the “Fortnight” pop star onstage during her acoustic set to perform a mash-up of “Us” and Swift’s 1989 single, “Out of the Woods.” The Swift-assisted track debuted at No. 36 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Nov. 18: ‘That’s So True’ tops Billboard chart
“That’s So True,” a bonus track from The Secret of Us Deluxe, becomes Abrams’s first No. 1 on Billboard’s Streaming Songs Chart. According to Luminate data, the song takes the top spot after earning 23.5 million streams, a 25% uptick, in the week ending Nov. 14. The track also earns Abrams her first top 10 single on Billboard’s Hot 100, moving into the No. 6 spot with 24 million streams and almost 2 million in airplay audience impressions, Luminate also reported.
Nov. 18: Attends 1st public event with boyfriend Paul Mescal
Abrams accompanies Gladiator II star Paul Mescal to the after-party of the film’s Los Angeles premiere, marking the first time the pair has attended a public event as a couple. The “Us” singer and Normal People star have been romantically linked since June 2024.
Dec. 3: Asia tour dates announced
Abrams is set to take “The Secret of Us Tour” to Asia for the first time in 2025. Ahead of her Australian tour leg, Abrams announces she’s playing seven shows in April in cities such as Seoul, South Korea, Tokyo and Bangkok.
Dec. 8: Final ‘Eras Tour’ performance
Before performing her last “Eras Tour” set on Dec. 8 in Vancouver, Canada, Abrams reads an emotional speech to the crowd in which she admits she’s “not ready for it to be over.”
“Like all of you, I [was] brought up with Taylor’s songs,” she says. “Magically, needing a moment in my life that I didn’t think anyone else could understand or know or ached or yearned or loved or lost, and yet she did.”
Dec. 9: ‘The Secret of Us Deluxe Tour’ announced
Abrams announces on Instagram that she’s headed back on tour in North America, this time in support of The Secret of Us Deluxe album. She’ll play in venues like New York City’s Madison Square Garden and Inglewood, Calif.’s Kia Forum. This will be Abrams’s first headlining arena tour.
Dec. 12: Five new shows added to tour
Due to demand, Abrams announces five more arena shows for "The Secret of Us Deluxe Tour." She'll now perform back-to-back nights in Boston; New York; Morrison, Colo.; and Mexico City.
Dec. 12: ‘Saturday Night Live’ promotion
Abrams appears alongside comedian Chris Rock and Saturday Night Live cast member Heidi Gardner in a new promo for the Dec. 14 episode.
Dec. 13: ‘The Secret of Us Deluxe Tour’ tickets on sale
Tickets for Abrams's "The Secret of Us Deluxe Tour" go on sale to the general public. While some fans were lucky enough to score presale tickets, others waited in the Ticketmaster queue only to be greeted by soaring resale prices.
Abrams is set to perform at iHeart Radio's Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Additional performers at the annual event include Katy Perry, Tate McRae, Teddy Swims and Shaboozey.
