'The Golden Bachelorette': Did Dan from Naples receive a rose on inaugural show?
"The Golden Bachelorette" premiered Wednesday night, and many in Southwest Florida and the rest of the nation tuned in.
And the question locally was: Did Dan from Naples receive a rose, meaning he'd remain on the ABC reality show?
Here's what we know.
Who is Dan from Naples?
Show officials earlier this summer revealed he's a 64-year-old private investor who's "optimistic, loyal and open-minded guy who loves the simple things in life, like a Saturday morning at the farmers' market."
"The Golden Bachelorette" also shared that he enjoys reading historical biographies but did not reveal his last name.
"Dan says he’s currently the happiest he’s ever been and just wants to meet the right woman to live out his golden years with. He hasn’t had much luck with dating recently, so Dan is excited about the opportunity to meet our Golden Bachelorette," the show announced in a news release.
Who's the competition?
Dan is competing with 23 others to win the heart of Joan Vassos, a 61-year-old, a grandmother of three whose husband died from cancer three years ago.
They include investors, a chiropractor, caterer, emergency room doctor, contractor and Mark Anderson, the retired Army veteran and father of Kelsey Anderson, who earlier this year was the winner on "The Bachelor."

Did Dan receive a rose?
In the end, Joan did give Dan a rose so he'll continue in the competition. The other Florida man on the show, Gregg from Longboat Key, also received one.
Six men did not get a rose from Joan.
When is 'The Golden Bachelorette' on again?
The next one begins at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, on ABC7 (WZVN).
