General Hospital Heartbreak Ahead: Despite Recast Rumors, Is Lulu Being Killed Off?
General Hospital may be pulling the ultimate bait-and-switch on viewers. Although a casting call recently went out for the role of Lauren that sounded a lot like a description of Lulu, a wake-up call may not be in store for Luke and Laura’s daughter at all.
In the August 16 episode of ABC’s only soap (for now), Laura received a call that something was wrong with Lulu — and it had to be pretty big to be considered “wrong” since she was already in a years-long coma. Fans assumed that the shock was a red herring, given that even Emme Rylan has reacted to the news that she is being recast in the part that Julie Marie Berman originated.

But there may be more going on than meets the eye. We’ve all been assuming that Lauren is Lulu and that she’ll be reentering the fray to complicate Dante and Sam’s relationship. General Hospital could be setting us up, though — and for a dramatic fall.
If Lulu were to (yikes) die, that would explain the return of Jonathan Jackson as her brother, Lucky. And who would that make Lauren? Hayden, that’s who. With Nikolas in prison and Finn in rehab, it doesn’t make any sense that Liz’s sister wouldn’t make her way back to Port Charles to retrieve daughter Violet.
Maybe you haven’t heard, but Hayden’s previous portrayer Rebecca Budig is pretty tied up these days at The Bold and the Beautiful. And perhaps one of the soap alumni would thought could take over as Lulu could just as easily become Hayden. (Check out the list here.)
