Gabrielle Union shares birthday tribute to husband Dwyane Wade: 'You are so many things to so many people'
Gabrielle Union is sending some major birthday love to her husband, Dwyane Wade.
The actress and former America’s Got Talent judge, 47, took to Instagram on Friday to post a series of photos celebrating the former NBA star on his 38th birthday.
“Happy birthday spades partner!! We in this b**** till the wheels fall off!! Cheers to kicking off 38 with adventures and antics!!...” Union wrote, captioning several photos of the couple.
In a second post, Union shared a photo slideshow set to music with a more detailed caption, explaining why their relationship is solid.
“@dwaynewade you are so many things to so many people and yet somehow you keep evolving into the man, husband, father, businessman, son, brother, philanthropist, ally, and FRIEND you always knew you could be,” wrote Union. “I am so proud of the FRIEND you are. It baffles some, that you don't cash in on your friendships or exploit the trust we all have in you, but that's not you. You've been the true definition of friend, even when you suffer.”
“You've been the guy that forever takes the high road, gives the benefit of the doubt, creates opportunities out of thin air, and sees the bright side even in darkness,” continued Union. “You've become my very best friend and I'm so excited where you are going my friend. 38 never looked so good.”
In a third Instagram post, Union hinted that the couple took an international flight for the occasion. “Birthday Vibes. Paris for date night,” she wrote under a photo.
Union’s declaration of love for Wade comes after a tumultuous period following her departure from America’s Got Talent after she reportedly raised concerns about racially-inappropriate comments and toxic behavior on set. But the couple seems to be leaning on each other for support, spending Christmas in Hawaii boating, snorkeling, and wearing matching pajamas, as reported by People.
On Friday, Wade shared gratitude for all the birthday joy. “W. O. W?? I couldn’t have written this script any better. To everyone asking me my age, from this day on call me AGELESS! On this day my love ones have made me feel appreciated, loved and I thank you all for that. Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes.”
