Is that Frasier kissing Roz?! And other exclusive first-look images from “Frasier” season 2

Frasier season 2 is sure to be full of surprises, from the return of some beloved characters to the introduction of some all-new ones played by familiar faces. But could romance between two dear friends be in the cards as well?

Entertainment Weekly has exclusive first-look images of the Paramount+ sitcom's second season, featuring Peri Gilpin's recurring return as Roz Doyle, one of Frasier's closest friends. The photos include plenty of hints at where the season may take Frasier & co. First up, Roz appears to be fitting right in with Frasier's (Kelsey Grammer) new crowd at Mahoney's, interviewing the incorrigible Alan (Nicholas Lyndhurst) with her deadpan reaction well intact.

In another shot, Dr. Crane throws a classic Frasier dinner party, this time complete with costumes. And Frasier's son Freddy (Jack Cutmore-Scott) is helping to raise his best friend Eve's baby, making Frasier an unofficial grandfather — though the two men seem perhaps unsure about the tot in the photo below. In another image, Eve (Jess Salgueiro) bears witness to the famous Crane dexterity as she helps Niles and Daphne's son David (Anders Keith) in the kitchen.

But what's this? Freddy and Eve look shocked to see Frasier kissing a mysterious woman who looks an awful lot like Roz from the back... While in another photo, Frasier and Roz look like the cat who just made out with and then ate the canary.

Of course, if Roz and Frasier do share some romantic feelings this season, it's more or less canon. Though they've been good friends for years, they did sleep together in the original run of Frasier, in episode 23 of season 9, "The Guilt Trippers."

Speaking of the past, a few characters from the OG series will cameo this upcoming season. Dr. Crane returns to his radio roots at KACL in Seattle for an episode, featuring Dan Butler as Bob "Bulldog" Briscoe and Edward Hibbert as Gil Chesterton, as well as Harriet Sansom Harris as Frasier’s "delightfully devilish" agent, Bebe Glazer.

"Dan Butler and Edward Hibbert have made an indelible contribution to television, and I am overjoyed to welcome them back to Frasier and for the opportunity to work together once again," Grammer previously said in a statement.

Other previously announced season 2 guest stars include Patricia Heaton, Yvette Nicole Brown, Amy Sedaris, and Grammer's real-life daughter Greer Grammer, who will play Roz's daughter Alice Doyle.

Frasier premieres Sept. 19 on Paramount+ with a two-episode premiere and a new episode dropping weekly thereafter.
