Frances Bean Cobain & Riley Hawk Surprised Everyone With Baby News & Their Son’s Name Is So Unique

2024 keeps giving us news that we just aren’t expecting. And speaking of unexpected news, here’s one you may have missed: Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love’s daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, is now a mom! Along with that, she welcomed a baby boy with her husband, Riley Hawk, who is Tony Hawk’s son. Surprise (and he has a super-cool name)!

On Sept 28, Frances shared a series of snapshots that shocked everybody: she and Riley are parents now! She shared the photos of their newborn son to her Instagram with the caption reading, “9.17.2024/ Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk ?? ? Welcome to the world most beautiful son. We love you more than anything ?.”

In the photos, we see black and white snapshots of baby Ronin, followed by a pic of Ronin wrapping his little finger around Frances’ hand, and a heartwarming snapshot of Riley holding onto their newborn son. This family of three looks like the definition of bliss, and we’re so happy for the new parents!

However, we’re also looking at their newborn son’s name: Ronin Walker. We love it! Ronin has quite a few meanings behind it: for instance, it’s Celtic for “little seal” and Japanese for “drifter, wanderer, and masterless samurai.” It’s like a two-in-one name. Along with that, Walker is English for “cloth-walker.”

Such a cosmic name, and such a cosmically cool family.

For those who don’t know, Frances and Riley have been together since 2021. While they’ve kept their romance quite private, we do know they tied the knot on Oct 7, 2023 and that her godfather, R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe, officiated, per Page Six.
