Fox News’ Ingraham Defends Questioning Lt Col Vindman’s Patriotism: ‘Service Does Not Insulate Him From Criticism’
Fox News’ Laura Ingraham responded Tuesday night to condemnation she received for a segment on her Monday show that questioned the patriotism and loyalty of National Security Council member, Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who was set to testify in the impeachment probe.
Democrats “think they finally found their star witness: Army vet Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, a Purple Heart recipient and a White House NSC staffer,” she said. “While we of course salute Vindman’s service to this country, that service does not insulate him or any member of the armed services from criticism or scrutiny, especially when they’re still on active duty.”

Ingraham then aired some of the numerous clips of various network hosts, anchors and guests expressing outrage at criticism of him Tuesday.
“Let’s face it,” she said. “If the lieutenant colonel had been on the call and dismissed any wrongdoing by the president, Democrats and the media probably wouldn’t sound like this.”
On Tuesday, Vindman, who is a Ukrainian-born refugee, testified about the phone call between President Trump and the Ukrainian president that started the entire impeachment probe. On Monday’s “The Ingraham Angle,” guest John Yoo suggested involvement in “espionage” in a discussion of the official and his then-impending testimony.
No one on Monday’s Fox News program offered any proof of “espionage.”
Later on Tuesday, after Ingraham’s segment had been criticized by CNN and MSNBC’s morning show anchors, MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace went on-air to deride the unproven “espionage” claims. Responding to the clip of Yoo saying, “Some people might call that espionage,” Wallace said. “Except those people aren’t chickens–t like the three of you and they know that he passed a background check that the president’s daughter and son-in-law didn’t.”
