'Fire Country' Fans, Jared Padalecki May Be Joining the Franchise Outside of Season 3
Update, September 11, 2024:
Is there a chance we can see more of Jared Padalecki in the Fire Country franchise? Thanks to an announcement made by Deadline, it looks like it.
The outlet surprised fans of the beloved series on September 6 by revealing that CBS (the network Fire Country airs on) extended a first-look deal with the actor, allowing him to develop and produce new projects on both primetime and streaming platforms. What's more, the publication inferred there's a chance he could have his own time to shine in the Fire Country franchise with the potential of a spinoff series that would center around his upcoming character, SoCal firefighter Camden.
The news also comes just TK months after Fire Country announced another spinoff is in the works. Set to air during the 2025/2026 TV season, Sheriff Country will focus on Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin) as she solves crimes and cases throughout Edgewater. Her character will also deal with family dynamics, which was already previewed in Fire Country season 2.
Looks like we have a lot to keep an eye out for...

Fire Country is heating up ahead of season 3, and there's a new actor in town that will certainly ignite a few flames.
As the hit CBS drama is currently in the middle of filming new episodes, Deadline decided to drop some news about the show ahead of the season 3 premiere on October 18. According to the outlet, the cast is expanding for a few episodes, with a character that's set to be part of Bode Leone (Max Thieriot)'s storyline for season 3.
As for who will be joining Fire Country season 3? That will be none other than Walker and Supernatural star Jared Padalecki. He's set to join Fire Country season 3 for a three-episode arc, though it could be much more than that. According to TV Insider, Jared's guest-starring role could potentially have him being part of a second spinoff series, outside of the upcoming Sheriff Country in the 2025-2026 TV season.
When news of Jared's latest role began circulating on Instagram, fans immediately voiced their excitement about him joining the popular procedural drama.
"Fire Country just got hotter. ?????? Already obsessed with this show but no way I’m not gonna appreciate bonus Jared!" one person wrote. "Yeahhhhh!!! So happy for him ?????? (and us, the fans ??)," another declared. "????♀?Let me go binge watch Fire Country so I can know what’s going on," a different follower added.
So, what is Jared's role in Fire Country season 3? He'll be portraying Camden, a Southern California firefighter who Variety describes as a "maverick with a surfer swagger who is a force to be reckoned with." The publication also notes Camden will recognize Bode's talent as a first responder, leading to a lot more than fans may expect.
If that isn't enough, Fire Country executive producer Tia Napolitano is already teasing Bode and Camden's future rapport in season 3. "We’re so excited," she told TV Insider on August 14. "The part was written for Jared, very specifically. Jared and Max are buddies, so that helped."
"Everyone in Bode’s life before Camden hits the scene is sort of trying to tame a tiger when it comes to Bode to make sure he works the program so he can get out," she added. "Camden is more Bode than anyone else on our show. I think they’re twin flames and similar and Camden’s able to encourage, draw out maybe the dangerous side of Bode, but he sees the talent and leans into it. He doesn’t try to put lightning back into the bottle."
Well, this has certainly set our interest ablaze!
