Fans shocked that Axl Rose is 'the voice of reason' after he comes out against the 'obscene' Trump White House
Axl Rose has made his views on President Trump clear — and he’s willing to take whatever criticism that may come with that.
Over the weekend, the controversial Guns N’ Roses frontman complained on Twitter that Trump had used one of his hits, “Sweet Child o’ Mine,” against the band’s wishes. He explained that a legal loophole allowed the president, whose administration he referred to as “s***bags,” to do it.
That thread was followed up with an equally buzzy one in which he said that everyone — no matter their political affiliation — should be able to enjoy his band’s music. However, he added that Trump has “no regard for truth, ethics, morals or empathy of any kind,” and he characterized the president as a liar and crybaby. He ended by saying that many Americans have “never experienced anything this obscene” and that we’ll “pay hard” for it if we don’t do anything about it.
As far as I’m concerned anyone can enjoy GNR 4 whatever reason n’ there’s truth 2 the saying “u can’t choose your fans” n’ we’re good w/that.

Having said that my personal position is that the Trump administration along w/the majority of Republicans in Congress n’ their donors that support him 4 their own agendas r doing r nation a disservice.

We have an individual in the WH that will say n’ do anything w/no regard for truth, ethics, morals or empathy of any kind, who says what’s real is fake n’ what’s fake is real.

Who will stop at nothing 4 power feeding off the anger n’ resentment he sows 24/7 while constantly whining how whatever doesn’t go his way is unfair.
— Axl Rose (@axlrose) November 4, 2018
Most of us in America have never experienced anything this obscene at this level in r lifetimes n’ if we as a country don’t wake up n’ put an end 2 this nonsense now it’s something we definitely will all pay hard 4 as time goes on.

While his comments certainly had naysayers, the overwhelming reaction was positive — and commenters themselves were admittedly surprised by that. In essence, people were saying that when Axl Rose is the voice of reason, this country seems to be in a bad way.
someone invent a time machine and tell people in 1988 that in 30 years Axl Rose will be the voice of reason https://t.co/1vNGN934bC

@Circa1984Surviv the realization that Axl Rose is the cogent voice of reason and not the Pres. #wholeworldgoingcrazy https://t.co/QdLrGoAQxn

Woke Axl Rose is a delightful plot twist.

We are at a point where Axl Rose is an even-tempered, thoughtful, genuine voice of reason. Good god.

I’ve been surprised by a lot in Trump’s America but Woke Axl Rose might take the cake https://t.co/2pKK3arrfP

Who would've guessed 30 years ago that Axl Rose would be speaking more sense than an overflowing panel of 19 "political experts" on CNN.

When Axl Rose is admonishing you, you may want to reconsider your life choices. https://t.co/DMnvDPEnnn

Axl Rose has a more enlightened understanding, nuanced observation, and incisive intellect that a large portion of people and an even larger portion of Republicans. It's good to still be surprised by people… https://t.co/B2pcukmPjN

It's strangely heartening that he's anti-Trump. https://t.co/QPYyG6uBEw

Considering Axl Rose hasn't been woke since 1987, this is news…

#LRT Well there you have it folks, I never thought I'd look to Axl Rose as a moral compass yet here we are #BizarroWorld

As we said, yes, there was backlash too. People used his past to discredit him — and there is obviously a lot of ammo.
What’s Milkshake Duck but the duck already wrote one of the most racist songs of the 1980’s and put it on a hit album? https://t.co/KZZpWU69M1

… look up One in Million by yourself. The gist is that he had to ride a Greyhound bus and wrote a song about how he hated everyone else on the bus. Then he made Slash play that song in the studio and live.

… then note that Axl Rose walked off stage after 30 mins because GnR couldn’t go early after James Hetfield got 2nd degree burns opening for them in Montreal. Prior to that he walked off stage when he caught a fan with a camcorder.
He’s a terrible human being.

Other people are just obsessed with his punctuation — and we can’t say they’re alone.
axl’s position is 💪🏻 but his style, grammar and use of R and N is truly 😩 https://t.co/PXFWJtylZs

I'm really fascinated by the efforts Axl Rose is putting in to replacing every 'and' with n' in this thread. Some serious commitment to the G n' R brand. https://t.co/XHdZw2Y3RQ

Rose sharing his politics shouldn’t come as a surprise because 1) he’s human and has a voice and 2) he’s done the thing same before. Last month, he urged his followers to vote blue, sharing a photo of his mail-in ballot.

Rose has joined a long list of people complaining about Trump using his music at political rallies. Over the weekend, Rihanna asked him to stop using her music as well.
