Fans Come to OITNB Star Danielle Brooks' Defense After Gate Attendant Calls Her 'Lucky' to Fly First Class
Danielle Brooks has two SAG awards under her belt and a role in one of the biggest breakout TV hits in recent years – so she's not exactly new to flying first class.
The Orange is the New Black star, 26, shared a now-deleted tweet to express her frustration over an airport gate attendant acting surprised that she was seated at the front of the plane.
"I hate when gate attendants look at me like I've never flown first class and say "You're in first class, lucky you!" really tho," the 26-year-old actress, who stars as Taystee Jefferson on OITNB, wrote.
And while some took the time to criticize Brooks, others came to her defense about assumptions and racism Brooks may have experienced during those encounters.
Her other tweets and Instagrams suggest that one of these encounters may have taken place when she was on her way to Los Angeles for an interview with Jimmy Kimmel.
But after Ebony magazine tweeted out their support, Brooks replied to quell the Twitter battle.
"Lol this thing blew wayyy out of proportion! Lol," Brooks wrote
