Fans Cheer Jenna Bush Hager On As She Makes 'Exciting' Career Announcement
Look out, Hollywood—Jenna Bush Hager is about to make her acting debut.
The news personality and Today show star announced this week that she will be appearing in the upcoming Hallmark holiday movie, Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.
Bush Hager, 42, shared the exciting news during the Thursday, July 11 episode of Today, where she came into the studio dressed in a Santa hat and Kansas City Chiefs jersey that had none other than Travis Kelce's number on it.
While the upcoming film is not directly based on Kelce's "Love Story" with Taylor Swift—which the entire world has been watching play out—it's safe to assume that the movie's storyline might have something to do with the two lovebirds and their highly publicized whirlwind romance.
"I thought it was about Taylor and Travis and I thought I got the Taylor role," Bush Hager, holding the "top secret" script joked while telling her colleagues about the new gig on Thursday. "But I didn't—shocker."
Instead, the Love Comes First author went on to explain the movie's actual plot, which she said is about a "super fan [of the Kansas City Chiefs] who falls in love with a man who works for the team."
While fellow Today show personalities Hoda Kotb, Sheinelle Jones, Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin and Al Roker all wanted to know more about the upcoming film, Bush Hager insisted that she was sworn to secrecy. She even had to stay tight-lipped about what exactly her role in the film is.
But that didn't stop fans from being over-the-moon for the journalist on the exciting new venture.
"OMGoodness...I love Jenna ???? How fun & can't wait to see this movie!" one fan gushed on Instagram after hearing the news.
"This is so exciting!" someone else beamed.

Other fans made a point to officially welcome Bush Hager to the Chiefs fandom, including one Instagram user who wrote, "Welcome to the red kingdom," under the post.
"So excited you are joining us in some Christmas magic! ????????," another Chiefs fan added.
During Thursday's broadcast, Roker, 69, specifically asked if Kelce, 34, would be making a cameo in the film, but Bush Hager stayed firm on not being able to confirm or deny any details about the project.
We do know, however, that the entire movie will be filmed in Kansas City, Mo., including scenes that will be shot at the Chiefs' Arrowhead Stadium.
According to a press release about the film, Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story is expected to begin production this month, though a release date has not yet been announced.
