Fans are captivated by Nicole Kidman’s daughter’s accent: 'Australian meets Appalachian'
Fans are captivated by Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman’s 16-year-old daughter's accent.
In a Vogue TikTok video, Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban spoke about her experience walking a runway for the first time.
She was part of the Miu Miu Paris Womenswear Spring-Summer 2025 show at Paris Fashion Week.
"Hi, my name is Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban, and this is my first show. We're at the Miu Miu show in Paris. We did some shopping because how could you not come to Paris and not shop?" she says in the video. "I've been wanting to do this for so long, so when the offer came through, it was really exciting and now the day's finally here."
After hearing her accent, fans began commenting on the way that she spoke. Her unique accent struck fans as a blend of her parents' Australian accents, plus a southern American twang.
The couple both grew up in Australia, but raised Sunday and their 13-year-old daughter, Faith, in the United States. The sisters were born in Nashville, Tennessee.
"Her voice is southern American and Australian," one person commented on the video. "I've never heard that particular combination."
"OK the Tennessee Aussie hybrid accent is the cutest thing I have ever heard," another wrote.
A third added, "Love her accent. Australian meets Appalachian."
A fourth said, "Her accent! A southern drawl mixed with a twinge of Australian. What a mix."
Along with Sunday and Faith, Kidman is also a mom to her older kids, Isabella, 31, and Connor Cruise, 29, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Tom Cruise.
Earlier this year, Sunday and Faith accompanied their parents to the American Film Institute’s Life Achievement Award Gala, where Kidman was named the award's 2024 recipient.
On the carpet, the family smiled and posed. Then, at the ceremony, Urban gave a touching speech and spoke about his raising a family with Kidman.
“Her and I both come from tight four-member family units as well, so we try to do the same for our girls — keeping a tight little unit wherever we are,” he said. “We’ll make homes of film locations all over the world.”
