Fallout Early Impressions: Fans Stunned by First 2 Episodes
Fallout is getting some major buzz.
Two episodes of the upcoming live-action video game adaptation, which is set to air in full on Prime Video 12 April 2024, were screened to the press in a private event last night.
While attendees are prohibited from posting full reviews of the show before Fallout’s media embargo lifts on 11 April in an effort to prevent spoilers, they’re free to share first impressions - and the bulk of them are relentlessly positive.
Fallout reactions
Twitter user @VaultOfDaedalus writes: “As indicated, I got to see the first two eps of @falloutonprime tonight - and a couple of months ago through Work? - and…as a fan at heart, I couldn't have wished for a more faithful adaptation to screen.”
@Jaz_cupcake writes: “Tonight was wild. I'm so excited to see the rest of the Fallout series now”
@Tunnelsnakefool writes: “I can confirm I've seen the first two episodes of Fallout on Prime in March. I liked it a lot I'm eager to see the rest of the season. I think this show is going to please a lot of my fellow fans, of ALL of the games”

Exactly what they’re excited about from the show specifically is impossible to say, unless they want to break embargo and get blacklisted by Amazon forever. But at the very least, it’s a positive sign Fallout is generating some early hype.
It also bodes well for video game fans, because Fallout creator Todd Howard is holding back content for the Fallout 5 game.
Set in an alternate LA two hundred years in the future, in Fallout nuclear war has laid waste to everything. We follow Vault Dweller Lucy who, after living her entire life underground, must learn to navigate an unforgiving world populated by bloodthirsty gangs, skinless Ghouls, and radioactive salamanders.
It seems the end of the world isn't all that bad.
