Fairhope High School senior shines on Broadway
NEW YORK (WKRG) — Fairhope High School senior Sydney Gray shared her musical theatre writing talents and message on a Broadway stage Monday evening.
Last month, WKRG News Five brought you the story of Gray winning a national contest with a musical she wrote about a girl named Anava Lee. Tonight she introduced her song titled, ‘Little Miss Heard But Not Seen’ for artists to perform.

“Tonight, I am here to tell you that the kids are not OK,” Gray said. “In today’s post-COVID world, there’s been an ongoing health crisis that has had catastrophic effects on teens across the United States and around the world. This combined with the stresses of social media make it incredibly harder for teens to even function.”
The song relates to her experiences growing up and calls it a good anthem for other kids who want to put themselves out there but face backlash.
