Ezra Miller Grooming Allegations Taken Back by Tokata Iron Eyes’ Father
One of the parents who accused Ezra Miller of grooming their child has walked back their statements, and said they no longer blame the actor.
In a recent post to Instagram, Chase Iron Eyes — the father of Tokata Iron Eyes, who went by Gibson at the time — said that he initially made the accusations based on a witness who had since recanted their statement. As a result, he is now looking to move on and reconcile.
“I want to offer this on the drama 3 years ago when I filed a petition and claimed that Ezra appeared to have ‘groomed’ Tokata,” Chase Iron Eyes said. “I made that statement in my pleading (in a time of absolute war) based on information from a witness who then recanted and said nothing happened that they could infer anything inappropriate from. Thus, I immediately withdrew the court filings.
“Now we are doing our level best to move on, to reconcile, to heal while remaining supportive as a father; as long as Tokata’s good we’re good,” Chase Iron Eyes continued. “These are real people, living real lives and once you’re in that fire where there is no anonymity, there is no safe space for you to retreat. That’s a strange place and it’s not enviable. It takes a lot to enter the fray again.”
What was the controversy surrounding Ezra Miller?
In 2022, Ezra Miller was accused by various people of various instances of grooming, assault, and harassment. Specifically, Chase Iron Eyes and Sara Jumping Eagle accused Miller of grooming their child, Tokota Iron Eyes. At the time, the parents claimed that Miller convinced the pair to send Tokota to Bard College in Massachusetts and that Miller had physically abused Tokota, while also supplying them with drugs and alcohol.
Amidst the allegations, Tokota issued a statement themself, claiming that Miller hadn’t done anything inappropriate with them, and that their parents had been emotionally and psychologically manipulating them. The instance was one of several allegations made against Miller in 2022.
“Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment,” Miller said via a statement two years ago amidst the controveries. “I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe, and productive stage in my life.”
