The most epic (but hilarious) fail on 'RuPaul's Drag Race' finale
It was the grand finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race on Thursday night as the top four contestants — Eureka, Asia O’Hara, Aquaria, and Kameron Michaels — battled it out to be crowned America’s Next Drag Superstar.
During one of the last Lip Sync Smackdowns of the season, between O’Hara and Michaels, O’Hara attempted a stunt that depended on the participation of live butterflies. Unfortunately for the performer it was a flutter flop when nothing happened.
While performing to Janet Jackson’s “Nasty,” O’Hara first attempted to open a bracelet cage to release butterflies into the air, but the creatures seemed to have stage fright. The drag queen tried blowing at the butterflies to give them a little nudge, but it was a total fail — and that wasn’t even the most embarrassing part. When O’Hara opened up her coconut-sized bra to release the butterflies … none of them took off. They remained within the net of the bra, with some eventually falling to the floor only when O’Hara made dance moves big enough to forced them out.
The stunt fail created a major butterfly effect on Twitter, as fans tweeted:

Sadly, the butterflies weren’t Asia’s only L’s. After losing the Lip Sync Smackdown against Michaels, she was sent sashaying away, Aquaria was ultimately named this season’s winner, and when RuPaul asked her if there was anything she’d like to say, Aquaria responded, “Sometimes in life, you’re not always given a second chance. But if you do, take advantage of it and go out with a bang!”
The RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 10 finale aired Thursday, June 28, at 8 p.m. on VH1.
