IFC has acquired North American rights to romantic comedy “Comet,” starring Emmy Rossum and Justin Long.
The story examines a six-year relationship through the lens of a couple who meet at a Hollywood cemetery during a meteor shower.
Sam Esmail directed the film from his own script. Producers are Chad Hamilton for Anonymous Content and Lee Clay. The film is a Fubar Films production with Colin Bates serving as executive producer along with Peter M. DeGeorge, Steve Golin, Long, Rossum and William A. Stetson.
IFC will release the film this December. Content has acquired sales rights and will be introducing and screening the film to international distributors for the first time at the upcoming American Film Market. “Comet” premiered in June at the Los Angeles Film Festival.
