Elwes to give talk, screen 'Princess Bride'
Sep. 10—LIMA — Fans of the movie "The Princess Bride" will have a chance to get their biggest questions answered by the star of the 1987 classic with an event Friday night.
"An Inconceivable Evening with Cary Elwes" will bring the actor who played Westley to Lima for a screening of the movie about an adventure to rescue the titular character. It's followed by a moderated discussion to answer questions from the audience at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13 at the Veterans Memorial Civic Center, 7 Town Square, Lima.
"They will hear behind-the-scenes stories of the making of the movie," Elwes said via email. "Witnessing the fans embrace this film 30-plus years later is nothing short of inconceivable."
Elwes said the most commonly asked question he hears is "What was Andre the Giant like?", but he is looking forward to the event as a whole.
"I get to travel to parts of America that I would perhaps otherwise never get to visit," he said. "If they are coming, then they already know they are in for a good time!"
