During a live reading on Netflix with celebrity medium Tyler Henry, Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause was overcome with emotion at the suggestion that her late parents had sent her partner G Flip to “take care” of her.
The revelation came during Tuesday’s debut episode of Live From the Other Side, which found Stause and a couch full of loved ones receiving messages from beyond via Henry, who first rose to fame with his four-season E! show Hollywood Medium after appearing on Keeping Up With the Kardashians in 2015.
“There’s a sense of whoever I was going to read needing to know that they on the other side sent someone to try to take care of you,” Henry told Stause in reference to her relationship. “I know that’s so left field but it comes in and there’s this sense of them having a hand in this union.”
Stause, who married nonbinary Australian drummer G Flip in 2023, cried at the message, saying, “I knew if my parents had the chance to meet my partner that they would love G so much,” and sharing that she had previously felt her mother trying to convey that message.
From a fateful Halloween party to planning a family together, the couple has a queer love story for the ages.
“It really did feel like my parents sent G to [take care of me],” Stause shared, noting that her partner was watching the episode live from Australia with their family.
One particularly cosmic connection between G Flip and Stause’s late parents is the fact that her father, Jeff, was also a drummer. When Jeff passed away from lung cancer in 2019, Stause wrote on Instagram, “I grew up in an unconventional family and my dad was a drummer-the heartbeat of the music. Today we lost the heartbeat of our family but I am happy knowing he took his music to heaven.” Her mother, Ranae, also died of lung cancer the following year.
In addition to assuring Stause that she need not worry about her last conversation with her late mother, one of Henry’s most powerful moments came when he shared a prediction from beyond about family planning. In both the eighth season of Selling Sunset and a recent interview with Extra, Stause has opened up about starting a family with G Flip, sharing that the couple had begun looking for a donor and that they are hoping to “be entering a new chapter at some point soon. Henry shared that as the couple continues to explore non-traditional modes of expanding their family, the first attempt might end up “not working out so hot,” but the second would, according to the messages he said he was receiving.
“Am I on the second part or am I still on the first part?” Stause asked.
“I think you’re on the second,” Henry said, much to Stause’s relief — and to ours, because we can’t wait to read whatever chapter comes next for the happy couple.
Live from the Other Side with Tyler Henry airs live Tuesdays on Netflix.
