Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR Share ‘$ome $exy $ongs 4 U’ Tracklist
“Drizzy about to drop, the games in disarray,” Drake rapped on his 2018 track “8 Out Of 10” and that feeling is back once again. The 38-year-old rapper and PARYNEXTDOOR shared the tracklist for their forthcoming collaborative album $ome $exy $ongs 4 U.
The 21-song project, which will come out on Valentine’s Day (Friday, Feb. 14) is described as “74 personal minutes” from the duo. There are no features listed, but that does not mean they won’t be heard come midnight; rappers have made it a trend over the last several years to hide feature names so listeners can be surprised. One name in particular has come up due to one of the song titles.
Toward the middle of the tracklist is a song titled “Brian Steele.” Fans immediately suggested Young Thug may be featured on the album, as his popular attorney throughout his RICO trial is named Brian Steel. That excitement was heightened via a quote shared by New York Times‘ Joe Coscarelli, where Steel revealed he’d previously met the Toronto superstar and that he was “so kind, considerate, generous, inspirational, intelligent – a true leader and great model for our community.”
Of course, the names are not spelled verbatim, which led fans to do some more digging and land upon the actor named Brian Steele. Steele appeared in Blade: Trinity in 2004 and played “Drake Creature.” What this means remains to be seen, but the 6 God has shown he loves coded language throughout his career, so fans may get the answers at midnight.
Another thing Drake has frequently done throughout his career is welcome other artists to perform interludes on his albums. On $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, there is a song titled “Pimmie’s Dilemma.” Pimmie is the nickname of Houston-based singer Pim, who released an EP last October titled Bye Luv. It is not confirmed that she is on the album, but it is a safe guess to make based on precedent.
The tracklist announcement did not come without controversy, either. The back cover features rabbits, which Freddie Gibbs has consistently used throughout his career. He also titled his 2022 album $oul $old $eparately, replacing the letter “S” with dollar signs. Early Thursday morning (Feb. 13), he tweeted “Damn they even stole the rabbits too. I’m flattered.” He then quoted his 2022 album announcement and wrote: “$$$$U *heart emoji*” and retweeted fans who pointed out that he was “stolen from.” If it wasn’t clear he had an issue then, he shouted out Soulja Boy in a follow-up tweet, who has been going at the For All The Dogs artist for months.

Nonetheless, Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR’s long-awaited collaborative album is almost here. They initially announced the project during the summer, which felt long overdue given their collaborative history and classic records such as “Come And See Me,” “Recognize,” and “Over Here.” PND also joined him in Australia for the Anita Max Win tour earlier this week, performing tracks like “TBH,” “No Chill,” and “Break From Toronto.”
