Dr. Phil responds to people's excuses not to get vaccinated: 'Are you f***ing kidding me?'
On The Late Late Show With James Corden Thursday, Dr. Phil McGraw gave his thoughts on the current vaccine debate happening in the U.S. The talk-show host, who is heading into his 20th season next week, started with the conspiracy theories.
“I’ve talked to so many people who aren't taking it because they think they're being injected with a tracking device,” Dr. Phil said. “Are you f***ing kidding me?”
The conversation came on the same day that President Biden issued executive orders mandating vaccines or weekly testing for large employers and health care providers, as hospitals everywhere continue to be overcrowded and overwhelmed. And as Dr. Phil said, you just gotta look at the numbers.
“When you look that 90 percent of the people that are dying are not vaccinated, do the math, this isn't hard,” he said. “This is not chess, it's checkers. This is easy to figure out.”
While the number of Americans getting vaccinated is on the rise again, Dr. Phil says he deals with plenty of families with some members who still refuse to get the vaccine. So he gave some insight on what he has been saying in those situations.
“I just try and say to people, ‘Look, it's more than about you. Maybe you get the vaccine for other people and not for yourself. You get it so you don't make other people ill,” Dr. Phil said. “But I do support getting the vaccination. I've gotten the vaccination. I support everybody getting the vaccination. And I hope people do.”
The Late Late Show with James Corden airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. on CBS.
