Downtown Jacksonville just got sweeter with the opening of a late-night bakery that delivers
Downtown Jacksonville just got a whole lot sweeter with the opening of a nationwide dessert shop known for its late-night delivery of warm, freshly baked cookies plus fudgy brownies and more sweet treats.
Insomnia Cookies is now open at 41 W. Adams St., in the Elks Building near North Laura Street.
The bakery will deliver "to insomniacs throughout Downtown Jacksonville and surrounding neighborhoods" as well as students at Florida State College at Jacksonville, Jacksonville University, and UF College of Nursing, Insomnia Cookies officials said in a news release announcing the opening.
The Pennsylvania-based chain now has two sweet shops in Northeast Florida. Insomnia Cookies debuted in Jacksonville at 4549 Southside Blvd. in Tinseltown Plaza in 2019.

Insomnia Cookies has built its business by coming to the rescue of people with late-night cookie cravings.
Be it college students pulling all-nighters to study for an important exam, expectant parents or night-shift workers, Insomnia Cookies focuses on providing sweet sustenance.
The bakery offers in-store, pickup and delivery options. Because when it's near midnight and you want a chocolate chip cookie or Snickerdoodle but lack the skill, ingredients or energy to bake it yourself, you can reach out to Insomnia Cookies.
On the menu at Insomnia Cookies
Classic Chocolate Chunk cookies lead the signature offerings, which also include Snickerdoodle, Confetti Deluxe, Classic with M&Ms, Double Chocolate Chunk, Chocolate Mint and Oatmeal Raisin.
Insomnia Cookies also features "Cookie Wiches," which are different flavors of ice cream sandwiched between two cookies. Guests select the ice cream flavor as well as the cookies to customize their "wiches." In addition, Brookies, Brownies and Blondies, as well as rotating specialty and limited edition cookies, are offered. Vegan and gluten-free options are available.
The cookies are available warm or cold, available in classic ($2.70) or deluxe ($4.50) offerings.
Or mix and match, choosing from a six-pack ($14.25) or 12-pack ($25.25) of classic cookies. A Super Six Pack ($16) features five classic cookies plus a choice of one Deluxe cookie, Brownie, Blondie or Brookie. A Deluxe Six Pack ($24.25) includes six Deluxe cookies, Brownies, Blondies or Brookies.
Insomnia Cookies also offers ice cream, cookie ice cream sandwiches and cookie ice cream cakes, the online menu shows.
Grand opening specials
To celebrate the grand opening, Insomnia Cookies is offering a series of specials on Tuesday.
From 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., customers who stop in at the downtown location will receive one free classic cookie. No purchase required. For delivery orders, a minimum purchase is required in order to get the free classic cookie. Free delivery is available with coupon code JAX23, according to the news release
In addition, the bakery will be donating 15 percent of retail sales from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the downtown location to Feeding Northeast Florida, the news release said.
Insomnia Cookies is open from 11 am. to 1 a.m. Monday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. Thursday, noon to 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 1 a.m. Sunday.
