How Dora the Explorer becomes a 'classic fish out of water' in 'Lost City of Gold' (exclusive)
This isn't your daughter's Dora the Explorer.
Kid Nation's favorite adventurer gets her own live action feature film with this month's Dora and the Lost City of Gold, and it's not just the move from animation that sets the movie version apart.
"It's not the Dora that we all know," co-star Eugenio Derbez explains in a new exclusive featurette video from the film (watch above). "We're gonna see how Dora leaves the jungle and starts interacting with people, with society."
Dora is played by Isabela Moner, who calls the heroine "a really strong and smart character." Lost City of Gold follows the explorer as she must adjust to life as a regular high school student — only to be thrust into a high-stakes mission, along with her new friends, to save her parents and uncover a mystery behind a lost Incan civilization.
Explained Jeff Wahlberg: "Dora's not your average teenager. She's kind of like a classic fish out of water."
See what else the cast, including Eva Longoria and Michael Pe?a, say about the film in the video above.
