'I don't accept this': Noah Cyrus and rapper Lil Xan go public, and fans aren't happy about it
While gossip persists about the status of Miley Cyrus‘s relationship with Liam Hemsworth, it’s much more clear that her little sister, singer Noah Cyrus, is feeling the love.
The 18-year-old, who is the youngest child of Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, has gone public about a new romance with rapper Lil Xan (real name: Diego Leanos). On Sunday, she posted a series of videos with the 21-year-old in which he kissed her on the cheek, they snuggled, and he played with a bracelet on her wrist, saying, “A gift for my baby. I hope you like it.”
Lil Xan posted some photos of the couple together too. One was of Noah wearing a jersey with his stage name on it while they cuddled, with the caption “My baby girl.”

A second was another snuggle session that really showed off his face tattoos. (Noah and Miley’s brother Trace is also known for his face tattoos, so don’t think the look scared off her parents.)

They both have roughly the same number of Instagram followers, many of whom are fired up about this new romance — and not in the best way. “NO I DONT ACCEPT THIS SMH,” wrote a commenter on one photo. Another said, “I’m not hating but W H Y.” And there were a lot of comments with just “Noooo.” They did get some support, though, including a bunch calling them “Mom and dad!”
A rep for Cyrus has not yet responded to our request for comment about the new romance.
Noah’s bio is well known. As the little sister of Miley, she’s legit been making headlines since she was a child — for instance, the controversy about her dressing as a sexy vampire for Halloween at the age of 9. In 2016 the “Make Me (Cry)” singer landed a record deal, and she has been making music, including with the late XXXTentacion, ever since, with her big sis often cheering her on.
Lil Xan — named after Xanax — has seen his star rise, which led to the New Yorker doing a story on him and the so-called sad rap musicians in January. He was initially a photographer, and his rapping career took off in 2016 after someone smashed his camera and he couldn’t afford a new one. The son of Mexican parents, he grew up in California and got his stage name from his use of Xanax, which he says he no longer takes. He’s spoken about his addiction, telling Genius, “I was painfully addicted to Xans for, like, two years of my life. Anyone trying to tell me I’m a poser can shut the f*** up. I know what it’s like to be addicted to that. I was lucky enough to get off that s***.” He says his brand, dubbed Xanarchy, is an anti-Xan movement. (He has toyed with changing his stage name.)
In December, Lil Xan had a different girlfriend when he did an interview with Real 92.3 LA. As for Noah, she was dating Tanner Alexander until recently. In June the former couple released a song together, “Lately,” which Alexander wrote and Noah said was inspired by a rough patch they went through. They also got matching tattoos in June.
Oh, young love!
