Donald Trump: Joe Biden condemns candidate's treatment of women

Joe Biden is not mincing words about Donald Trump.

When Seth Meyers on Wednesday asked the famously candid vice president about Donald Trump’s hot mic scandal and graphic comments about women, Biden made it clear that he thought Trump represented “absolutely outrageous behavior” — not just “the textbook definition of sexual assault,” but also a legitimate abuse of power.

“I’ve spent most of my career trying to begin to figure out how to change the culture in this country so we treat women with respect and dignity,” said Biden, who wrote the Violence Against Women Act of 1994. “I know I get really passionate about this issue, but my dad… My dad used to say the greatest sin of all was the abuse of power, and the cardinal sin of all is a man raising his hand or taking advantage of a woman. And here’s a guy who says, ‘I’m a star.'”

Biden continued: “Talk about power… That is the ultimate abuse of power, and I don’t understand how anyone can remotely justify that. I can understand — eh, I can’t understand, actually.”

Also on Wednesday, former PEOPLE writer Natasha Stoynoff joined the group of women claiming to have been sexually assaulted by Trump. A spokeswoman for the Republican candidate said, “This never happened. There is no merit or veracity to this fabricated story.”
