From Donald Trump to Harvey Weinstein: 6 times TV predicted the future
You’ve heard of TV-show plots being ripped from the headlines, but what about headlines being ripped from TV-show plots?
We found six times that television shows foretold the future.
We’re just hearing about Harvey Weinstein’s history of sexual harassment, but 30 Rock was hinting at it five years ago, in 2012. The show also took a shot at Bill Cosby and his sexual assault charges in 2009, five years before that story became widely known.
The Simpsons called Donald Trump’s presidency back in 2000, 17 years before it happened.
In 2015, Parks and Recreation predicted the Cubs would win the world series … and a year later, they did!
Family Guy seemed to know that Bruce Jenner might become Caitlyn, in two different episodes that aired in 2009 and 2011, but the world didn’t meet Caitlyn Jenner until 2015.
And just last month, This Is Us aired an episode that predicted the Kardashian baby boom … but it turns out that episode was filmed months before Khloé, Kim, and Kylie had announced their pregnancies!
