Don Lemon Responds To Ye Accusing Him Of Igniting “Kicked Out” Of Grammys Rumor
Don Lemon has responded to Kanye West after the Hip-Hop icon accused him of spreading the rumor that Ye and his wife, Bianca Censori, were “kicked out” of the 2025 Grammy Awards.
Entertainment Tonight initially reported that the married couple “showed up” uninvited with an entourage of about five people and were escorted out. However, a source disputed the claim to Page Six, insisting that Ye and Censori left on their own terms. “He walked the red carpet and then got in his car and left,” the insider clarified.
On Monday (Feb. 3), Ye took to his socials to point all fingers at Lemon, accusing him of starting the rumor that he was removed from the event. In a since-deleted Instagram post, the 24-time Grammy winner shared a smiling image of the former CNN anchor, writing, “This the goofball that started the rumor that me and my wife got kicked out the Grammies.” He added, “3 decades of innovating music and they always KOONS like this.”
Unwilling to let the accusation slide, Lemon swiftly clapped back with a video on Instagram, addressing the rapper directly.
“First of all, Kanye … Ye, whatever your name is. I did not start a rumor about you being kicked out of the Grammys. I actually corrected it,” he fired back. “I saw someone on your team who asked me to correct it because it had been reported everywhere. Get your sh*t straight.”
He went on, “You, of all people, calling me a coon? … That ‘Make America Great Again’ hat must be too tight on your head,” referencing Ye’s past public support for Donald Trump.
Lemon had already attempted to clear the air regarding the couple’s Grammy night saga, sharing a separate video in which he refuted claims that Ye and Censori had been forcibly removed.
“We saw a spokesperson for Kanye, and that spokesperson said Kanye was indeed invited, they said that’s a fact, and that he was not kicked out. That is what they are saying on Kanye’s side,” he reported.
West has not yet responded to Lemon.
The 47-year-old music mogul and his wife set the internet ablaze on Sunday (Feb. 2) when he arrived at music’s biggest night with Censori, who came pretty much nude.
A jaw-dropping moment was revealed when Censori slipped out of her black fur coat, baring her nude body on the red carpet.
A source reportedly told Page Six that Ye and Censori’s stunt “was an attempt to replicate the album cover of ‘Vultures.’”
