Dog the Bounty Hunter's health is 'a ticking time bomb,' says Dr. Oz
Duane “Dog” Chapman is facing a health crisis just months after the death of his wife, Beth. Chapman sat down with Dr. Oz after Oz got word that Chapman may not be taking his heart health seriously.
Chapman revealed he had been hospitalized with chest pains and doctors discovered a potentially life-threatening pulmonary embolism, but the Dog the Bounty Hunter star chose to leave the hospital against the wishes of his medical team.
“Did they tell you that? Everyone else says ‘Dog was released.’ How did you find that out?” asked Chapman after Oz confronted him about leaving the hospital early. “Because in the medical records it says it three different times,” said Oz. “Those rats!” joked Chapman.
But Oz didn’t find the situation humorous and attempted to convey the gravity of the situation Chapman may have put himself in by not listening to the advice of professionals. “I think they’re scared. They’re scared that you’re a ticking time bomb,” said Oz.
Chapman also revealed that he hasn’t quit smoking despite having told his wife, Beth, that he had quit when she asked while dying. Beth Chapman died of complications from throat cancer in June of 2019.
The reality star first appeared on Dr. Oz’s show earlier this month where he revealed he was so distraught over his wife’s death that he’s been unable to spread her ashes per her wishes, and Oz cautioned Chapman that he should pay attention to his health so he doesn’t suffer the same fate. “I have to deal with folks who have been married for a long time and one passes. Too often, the spouse follows along,” warned Oz.
Many viewers on Twitter were glad to see Chapman starting to make his health a priority and wrote messages of support to the grieving star:
Awww....I’m praying for this guy!! He seems like such a sweetheart and going through so much. 😔🙏
