When does ‘The Traitors’ Season 3 start?
The Traitors fans, another edition of treachery and betrayal is right around the corner. So when does Season 3 start, anyway?
Mark your calendar for Thursday, Jan. 9, at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET, as that’s when the first three episodes will debut on Peacock. New episodes will be released every subsequent Thursday, until the finale and reunion stream on March 6. Alan Cumming returns to host the program from his glamorous castle in the Scottish Highlands, and he’s joined by 21 contestants from reality TV shows and other notable ventures.

Just like in years past, the producers will keep viewers in the loop by showing us the identities of the villainous Traitors (those responsible for murdering their fellow players) and the heroic Faithfuls (those who try to uncover the truth) right up front. More Traitors may be recruited later on, particularly if the Faithfuls are successful in banishing the initial evildoers from the game. The ultimate winner(s) will take home a cash prize of up to $250,000.

The Jan. 9, 2025, start date for Season 3 is right in line with the prior two installments, which both kicked off during the second weeks of the 2023 and 2024 calendar years. While Season 1 dropped all episodes on the same day (except for the reunion), Season 2 aired in weekly installments after initially premiering the first three episodes at once; Season 3 is adapting that latter strategy.

Who previously won The Traitors? In Season 1, Survivor legend Cirie Fields (a Traitor) was the sole victor and claimed all $250,000 to herself. In Season 2, The Challenge vets Trishelle Cannatella and Chris “C.T.” Tamburello (two Faithfuls) shared the prize pot of $208,100. The final total depends on how much money all of the contestants are able to bring in throughout the season during the various challenges.
The second cycle of The Traitors recently shook up the 2024 Emmy Awards by winning Best Competition Program and Best Reality Host for Cumming over perennial favorite RuPaul’s Drag Race and its host RuPaul Charles. The whodunit show also claimed the 2023 Emmy for Best Reality Casting.
